With the release of its debut album Ten, Pearl Jam rose to the top ranks of Seattle’s grunge scene. They began touring relentlessly and when Nirvana lost Kurt Cobain, frontman Eddie Vedder became the most well-known performer to emerge from Seattle while Pearl Jam became one of the top mainstream bands in the US, selling over 60 million records worldwide.
